August 13 - 20, 2011

Program Description

This is a special focus group for six emerging professional viol players to work with Mary Springfels for almost 3 hours every day! The group meets for two sessions daily: a 90 minute class in the morning, to work on technique and consorts in Venetian and Venetian-influenced repertoire; a late afternoon class will explore special repertoire topics with Mary. In addition to these two sessions, there are other afternoon classes in viols, mixed consorts and vocal/instrumental ensembles with other Early Music Week faculty. Please ask for application materials for this class.
