Deirdre Murtha, of Norwalk, CT, has been an early childhood music teacher for the past 20 years, and was a preschool and elementary classroom teacher for 10 years before that. Her music, dance, and now theater programs bring her to preschools, libraries, camps, and private home-based groups. Deirdre is a member of the dance education group Pourparler; is certified in Level One Orff, Kodaly, and Dalcroize music education; and holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Hunter College in NYC. She also performs with her husband, Sean, in Strange Potatoes (Irish traditional, old-time, Rev. and Civil War) and together they run a monthly Chantey Sing in Southwestern CT. Deirdre is also a member of the maritime and sea chantey group The Johnson Girls (www.thejohnsongirls.com). She has also been a member of two Revels productions in NYC.
