Laurie Andres plays accordion and piano for old-time New England contra and square dancing, English country dance and klezmer music. Neither the dance world nor Laurie have been the same since he picked up and forgot to put down the piano accordion in 1977. A master of musical whimsy, Laurie propels dancers and their feet into fits of rhapsodic frenzy with his infectiously rhythmic playing. His playing is renowned for its wit, color, emotion, and compelling danceability. Laurie has played for community dances, dance and music festivals, and concerts all over the US, Canada, and Europe. He has lead a monthly English Country Dance in Seattle since 1984.
