Naples, March 15. Yesterday arrived an express from
Messina, with advice that the King arrived there safe, the
9th instant ; and that his majesty had detached some
battalions, to take possession of the cities of Syracusa and
Trapani, upon advice that the garrisons of those two places
had desired to capitulate on the same terms as that of
Messina; the capitulation whereof is in substance as
follows: . . .
III. That the said garrison shall march out with drums
beating, colours flying, and 30 charges for each soldier.
