Bristol, April 14.  [News reaches about postponement of
tobacco excise bill] This advice has so universally pleased
the inhabitants, that the bells of the steeples began to
sound their mites by two o'clock Friday morning, and
continued all that day, evening, and are still repeating the
same; and the rejoycings on this occasion have been so very
extraordinary, that barrels of ale were given to the
populace, large bonfires lighted throughout the city and
suburbs etc . . .
