Anecdote of the present Queen of France. A little after she
was married to the Dauphin (now King) they happened to have
some words at breakfast relative to the merits of some
public singer, in the course of which the Dauphin said some
things that irritated her exceedingly; she did not, however,
reply, but stepped into an adjacent gallery, where she
immediately fell to hopping upon one leg. . . [4 lines, this
was her way of recovering her good humour.]
