Ran away from Fighting Creek, the middle of last April,
Negro Sam, belonging to the estate of William Randolph, Esq;
deceased; he is about 5 feet 5 inches high, well set, can
make a shoe, and plays on the violin, has been frost-bitten,
and lost the most of his toes, and I believe all of them on
one foot; he is a cunning artful fellow, was last seen at
Turkey Island, in Henrico county, and suppose he is still
lurking thereabout. Whoever will bring the said slave to
me, on Fighting Creek, in Cumberland county, shall receive
twenty shillings, besides what the law allows. [signed]
Richard Eggleston.
