Falling River, Bedford, July 7, 1770. Ran away from the
subscriber a Negro fellow named America, about 40 years old,
well set, about 5 feet 8 inches high, middling black, and
has a scar on his left knee, and is a sort of a cooper and
fiddler; had on when he went away, a cotton jacket and
crocus breeches, and oznabrig shirt. The said fellow is
outlawed. Whoever takes him up, and conveys him to me,
shall receive five pounds and reasonable charges, besides
what the law allows. [signed] Joseph Tweedy.
N.B. The said Negro was formerly property of Col. Robert
Bolling.
