London. . . Feb. 18. . . Yesterday in the afternoon a large
cavalcade of freeholders, returning from the election at
Brentford, preceded by colours and a band of music, marched
down St. James's street, by the Royal Palace, and along
Pall-Mall, and afterwards returned to their respective
habitations.
One large body of horse, preceded by music, stopped at
Newgate, where they serenaded Capt. Allen, and one of the
party alighted and went into Newgate, to wait on the
Captain.
