For several days past a great number of foreign ministers,
mobility, and gentry, of all ranks, have crowded to the
house of the ingenious Mr. Cox, in Shoe-lane, Fleet-street,
to see the most inimitable clock made by that gentleman,
which is intended as a present to the Great Mogul: The
first attempt was upon a smaller plan than the present grand
piece; and the expence of both, it is said, will exceed the
sum of 160, 000 L sterling. This great piece of mechanism
plays a number of different tunes, and is ornamented with a
number of moving figures of considerable magnitude; among
other particulars there is a grand gallery, where an
