Williamsburg, Nov 3. Last Monday being the anniversary of
His Majesty's birth-day, was observ'd in this city with all
the distinguishing marks of loyalty we are capable of
shewing. In the morning the publick flag was hoisted on the
Capitol; at noon the cannon at the governor's house were
trebly discharg'd; and at night, most of the gentlemens and
other houses of note were illuminated. His Honour the
Governor, was pleas'd to give a handsome entertainment for
the gentlemen and ladies, together with a ball; and the
evening concluded with agreeable mirth, in every respect,
suitable to the occasion. The King's ships, and the forts,
in this colony, also proclaimed their loyalty from the
mouths of their cannon.
