On Friday last Sir Robert Grosvenor, Bart. was elected mayor of Chester, upon which he gave a grand entertainment to the sheriffs, aldermen, the corporation, and the gentry of the neighbourhood: The dinner consisted of upwards of 200 dishes, and there was a fine desert of above 100 dishes, and at night a ball for the ladies. |
