A letter from Madrid says, the Spanish court is so charm'd with Farinelli, the famous musician, that their Catholick Majesties have desired Mr. Keene, the British minister there, to write to London, to engage the directors of the opera to give that musician leave to spend the winter in Spain. We hear moreover, the King of Spain has created him a knight, and made him Yeoman of the Mouth, with a pension of 18, 000 crowns. |
