birthday] But their Royal Highnesses the Duke, the Princess
Amelia, and Caroline, return'd to the ball at night. . .

London, Nov 23.  Last Friday night, Their Royal Highnesses
the Duke, the Princesses Amelia, Mary and Louisa, came to
St. James's to the ball; Her Royal Highness the Princess
Caroline did not return with them, staying with Her Majesty
at Kensington.  The ball was open'd by His Royal Highness
the Duke, with the Princess of Wales; then His Royal
Highness the Prince of Wales danced with Her Royal Highness
the Princess of Wales; and then the Prince of Wales danced
with the Princess Amelia; then the young Princesses danced
minuets, and several of the nobility, for about an hour;
when His Royal Highness the Duke began country dances, with
the Lady Caroline Cavendish, eldest daughter of His Grace
the Duke of Devonshire.  Their Royal Highnesses, Amelia,
Mary, and Louisa, did not dance, but sat and look'd on the
company; and the ball broke up at one. . . [3 paragraphs,
