London, June 20. The report of the death of Miss Catley,
the celebrated singer, caused a very humourous debate at a
house near Covent Gardens, among some Hibernians, some
contending that it was, and some that it was not true; at
last it was ingeniously proved by one the report was
premature as follows: "'Pon my soul you are a pack of fools,
to boggle about this thing so long; Nan is engaged at Covent
Garden to sing next season, and devil burn me, if she is not
a girl of more honour than to break her engagement."
