Some gentlemen from London a few days ago passed through Gloucester, express to Hereford, to search the Register of All Saints Church for the age of David Garrick, Esquire, in order to determine a bet of 500 guineas, which was laid that Mr. Garrick was 60 years of age. The following is a transcript of the Register: Chris: David, son of Mr. Peter and Arabella Garrick, baptised February 28, 1716. |
