Extract of a letter from Rochester, dated July 16. "We lay
on Wednesday at Woolwich, wind and tide bound for five
hours; from whence the lord mayor and aldermen, in the
Chatham, and his retinue in the trinity yacht, proceeded for
Gravesend, where all arrived between ten and eleven. His
lordship and his brethren met with the most respectful
reception here, by the mayor, several aldermen, the ringing
the bells, and illuminations.
