Citation | VGW(HU.771.087 27 Jun 1771:31 (1039) Salisbury, April 15. A few days ago died at Hartmore, near Devizes, Mr. Henry Axford. He lost his speech in the year 1740, by catching a violent cold after dancing, and was dumb for five years after; when dreaming one night that he was falling into a furnace of boiling wort, he was so terrified that he screamed out, and instantly recovered his speech, which he retained during his life. |
