London. . . March 30. . . The duel lately fought in the East
Indies, between Captain Court, of the Princess of Wales
Indiaman, and Major Seres of the land service, was
occasioned by some altercation at a ball, from whence they
immediately withdrew, and engaged; wherein Captain Court
received a ball, which entered at the elbow, and shattered
his right arm so much that he was obliged to undergo an
immediate amputation; but he is so well recovered as to be
on his passage to England.
