London. . . By our theatrical correspondents at Paris we are
informed that the plays for this season at Versailles are
speedily to be terminated with the representation of
Tancred, in which the celebrated Mademoiselle Clairon is to
perform a part; and the exhibition of a new pantomime,
entirely invented and composed under the care of the
Dutchess Villeroi, in which last spectacle, of a nature
entirely new to the French, the spectators are to be
entertained with a representation of the ancient seats of
chivalry, and the combats formerly in vogue, and, among
other things, with the sight of four cars drawn by horses
out of the King's stables, which have been for some time
training for that purpose.
