Extract of a letter from Douglas [Scotland], March 10.  On
Friday the 3d instant, at seven o'clock in the morning, we
received the agreeable news of Mr. Douglas's success in his
cause. . . [8 lines] walked in procession from Douglas
castle to the cross of Douglas, with drums beating and
colours flying, and musick of different kinds, where they
all drew up . . . [16 lines, 100 gallons of punch consumed]
and the evening concluded with a ball, illuminations,
bonefires, &c. the whole conducted with the greatest
harmony.
