Extract of a letter from Valenciennes, October 17. The King
of Denmark arrived in this city on the 10th instant, in the
evening. His Majesty alighted at the Intendant's house,
which had been prepared for his reception. Soon after he
went to the theatre, and returned to supper. . . At one
o'clock his Majesty honoured with his presence a publick
ball given at the theatre, whither he went masked, and very
agreeably amused himself there until four o'clock, when he
went to rest. . .
