Extract of a letter from Edinburgh. The Theatre Royal in
this city will shortly be opened on a respectable footing,
the conduct of which will be given to Mr. Ross, who is set
out from London on that account. He has, we are informed,
engaged many performers; amongst the rest Mr. Kennedy, a man
who is not only a good performer, but has also made himself
very agreeable to the people of Scotland, by his sensible
and spirited behaviour in the late riot. His son, we are
informed, young Kennedy, promises to be a very great
ornament to the Theatre, as he has already acquired that
distinct articulate pronunciation so very requisite in
publick speaking, and has a command of the passion very
uncommon on the stage.
