Extract of a letter from Paris, dated May 5. The Englishman
who, through ignorance of our customs and manners, gave a
box on the ear to a military gentleman at the Concert
Spiritual, and who was sent to the Bastile, is almost cured.
He will be immediately conducted to the frontiers of France,
next to England, and the King, desirous that this affair may
be attended with no bad consequences, has ordered the
military gentleman, who is a reduced officer of the regiment
of Fitz James, not to depart the Kingdom on any pretense
whatever.
