Copy of a letter from Albany, dated March 30, 1757.  I make
no doubt but you have heard of our late alarm; and as I have
been as far up as Lake George, will acquaint you with the
particulars of the siege of Fort William-Henry. . . [7

every man that was capable of bearing arms was ordered to
