Ran away from the subscriber, living in Fredericksburg, on
the 27th day of July last, a servant man, named Thomas Gray;
he is about 36 years of age, of a brown complexion, about 5
feet 10 inches high, a cabinet-maker and joiner by trade;
had on when he went away . . . [3 lines] he is very
talkative, much addicted to drinking, and plays well on the
violin; was imported by indenture from London in the ship
Rachel, Capt. Armstrong, this summer, and is supposed to
have gone towards North-Carolina, having been seen lately at
Richmond Town on James River. Whoever apprehends and
conveys him to me, shall have thirteen pistoles reward paid
by [signed] James Allan.
