Ran away from the subscriber, living in Hanover County, on
the 10th day of June last, a convict servant man, named Hugh
Dean, about 35 years of age, of a middle stature, very much
pitted with the small-pox, has a roguish look, pretends to
be a German, but is thought to be an Irishman; he plays well
on the violin, is a great drunkard, says he was brought up a
refiner of metals, a chymist, and a doctor; he pretends to
understand all sorts of metals, and talks of several
countries; he was seen on Rappahanock River the 18th of
June, near Port-Royal: . . . [6 lines, terms, clothing,
pistole reward, signed] Morgan Graven.
