Run away from the subscriber, on the 20th of May, 1777, a
likely Virginia born Negro fellow, named Harry, about 5 feet
10 or 11 inches high, has been frost bitten and lost some of
his toes, two of his fore teeth wide apart, and of a
yellowish complexion. I am informed he is lurking about Mr.
Joseph Sewell's in Gloucester County, or in that
neighbourhood; he is fond of playing on the fiddle, and is
an artful cunning fellow, and may endeavour to pass for a
free man. Whoever apprehends the said fellow, and brings
him to me near Four Mile Creek, in Henrico county, or
secures him in any jail, so that I get him again, shall
receive one hundred dollars reward. [signed] Francis Pearce.
