In pursuance to a recommendation of the honorable Congress
of the United States to his excellency the Governor,
yesterday was observed for the celebration of the birth of
the Dauphin of France. The day was ushered in by the
ringing of bells, discharging of cannon, &c. but the
necessity of putting the paper early to press, prevents our
gratifying our readers with the particulars of the
rejoicings which were continued in the evening, by a
brilliant display of fire-works from a stage in the common,
illuminations, &c.
