Relation of what passed at Versailles, on occasion of the
birth of Monsieur the Dauphin.
The 22d of this month, the Queen having felt some pains,
denoting the speedy approach of her lying-in. . . [3/4

His majesty, as well as all the Court, assisted, after
the baptism, at the Te Deum, which was performed on this
occasion, in the chapel of the castle, by the King's musick.
. . [34 lines, various rejoicings.] The Sieurs de Boissy,
treasurers of the company for the assistance of prisoners,
received a letter, by which a citizen, who desires to remain
unknown, announces his intention of signalizing the happy
event of that day by the deliverance of a number of
prisoners, confined for debts of mois de nourrice. . . [4
lines] Extremely happy in being charged with the execution
of so benevolent an action, they fly to the Fort l'Eveque,
declare their mission, and cause to be sung, in the chapel
of this prison, a Te Deum, followed by a prayer consecrated
by the church to the desire of the preservation of
Sovereigns. . .
