On Saturday, the 13th inst. a very numerous meeting of the
Republican Whig Citizens of this Capital (members of the
Marine Anti-Britannic Society) were convened, according to
appointment, at the City-Tavern, to celebrate their
anniversary;-- in honor of the day on which the British
troops had evacuated this city.-- A very elegant dinner,
worthy so joyous an occasion, was prepared in the Long-Room,
ushered in by a peal from the Bells of St. Michael's Church,
and some military music.
