London. . . May 6 . . . The city of Bath is become so
populous, and there is so much encouragement given to the
public diversions of that place, that we hear a gentleman,
well known in the musical world, has contracted with the
patentee of the Theatre Royal there, to supply an excellent
orchestra for the four nights a week on which there are
plays, provided he is allowed the use of the house for balls
and concerts on the other two; and it is said, that, during
the summer, the Theatre will be fitted up in a very elegant
manner, after the plan of the opera-house, for that purpose.
