Extract of a letter from Savannah, in Georgia, dated March
29, 1766. Last night the pretended Sons of Liberty in this
place made an attempt to regain their lost honour. Our
Stamp-master having come in from the country the night
before, was allowed to remain unmolested till the evening of
Friday the 28th, when he was attacked by (as one of your
correspondents has named them) some of these mighty Men of
Valour, who demanded of him, if he intended to distribute
any more of his stamps, he very plainly told them, he would
not perjure himself, and would give them to any who would
apply for them. With this he was permitted to depart, till
a number of (as they stile themselves) Sons of Liberty
should be assembled together, by the sound of a French horn,
at a tavern in town. Now mark the penetration of these
heroes, about four hours were taken up in deliberating about
their weighty and important affairs, after which they
furiously sallied forth in search of this detested monster,
