On Monday the 17th instant, being the anniversary of St. Patrick the tutelar Saint of Ireland, Mr. Macartay gave an elegant entertainment to the gentlemen and ladies of this place, when the Irish flag, on which were the words Liberty, Loyalty, and no Stamps, was displayed from the top of his house; at noon his fort fired 21 guns, and the evening concluded with a ball. |
