Friday last being our most gracious Sovereign's Birth-Day,
when his Majesty entered into the Thirty-sixth year of his
age; the same was observed here with unusual demonstrations
of affection, loyalty, and joy. The day was ushered in with
ringing of bells, and all the forts, bastions, and shipping
displayed their colours.
