Boston, September 2. We have a report from Virginia, that
upon the arrival of the Stamp-Master there, the gentlemen of
the place invited him to a ball at night, and treated him
with the utmost politeness, but after it was over they
informed him, his baggage was put on board another vessel
which was to sail for London the next morning, and advised
him to take passage in her without delay, as his life would
be in danger if he staid there another day; this advice 'tis
said he complied with, and went off immediately.
