of the Articles of Capitulation, (published by the French)
of the Island of Martinique, between his Excellency M. de la
Touche, . . .and their Excellencies Rodney and Monckton, . .

Article I.  All the forts and posts of the Island of
Martinique shall be evacuated by the troops of his Christian
Majesty, whether regulars or militia, and companies of the
blacks or mulattoes; They shall march off with four field-
pieces, their arms, colours flying, drums beating, and all
the honours of war.  Answer. The troops and inhabitants
shall evacuate their garrison and forts with their arms,
drums beating, colours flying &c.
