Nassau, New-Providence, Dec. 30. The festival of St. John
the Evangelist happening to be on Sunday last, the
anniversary meeting of the ancient and honourable society of
Free Masons was observed here in the following manner, viz.
. . . [Ceremonies, decorations and toasts described]
at night the brigantine was beautifully illuminated in
honour of the day; and the whole was concluded with a ball
and a handsome entertainment for the ladies, who made a very
numerous appearance; and was conducted with great decency
and regularity.
