London, June 11. When the parliament of Paris gave the
decree, that the whole body of Jesuits should be answerable
for debts contracted by any member of the society, all the
courts and the street adjacent resounded with the clapping
of hands, and other demonstrations of joy. A droll fellow
took notice, that all the French actors had been unlucky
this year in the Palais (Westminster-Hall). The
excommunication of the comedians had been confirmed: the
convulsionaries (a species of enthusiasts) had been
banished; and the Jesuits condemned to pay.
