St. John's, Antigua, November 3. Last Monday being the
anniversary of His Majesty's Birth day, His Excellency
General Mathew gave a very splendid entertainment, in the
New Court-House, to the Council and Assembly; . . . [18
lines, dinner, healths, artillery]
At night there was a ball, at the Free Masons Lodge, for the
ladies; who made a very brilliant appearance. The whole was
conducted with the utmost decency and order, much to the
honour of His Excellency, and the satisfaction of all
present.
