Extract of a letter, dated February 3, 1741-2
As to the people who have fell into this new way,
particularly through the whole county of New-London, they do
little else but attend day and night meetings; in which they
exercise themselves in extempore preachments and prayers;
and instead of David's sing Watts's Hymns; which they also
chant forth on the road in great companies, as they travel
from place to place. . .
