The King of the Nauchees, a nation of Western Indians,
faithful friends to this province, arrived here with 26
warriours on Sunday last, and on Monday had audience of his
Excellency the Governor at the Council Chamber. Three
hundred men of this nation have been kill'd by the French,
besides women and children: which has occasion'd the King to
come down and desire leave to settle with all his people at
Savannah Town. Tomo-chi-chi, Chief of the Creek Indians,
who is setting out for England with Mr. Oglethorpe, invited
the Nauchees to dance with them, which they accordingly did
before the Governor's house on Wednesday, and on Thursday
they invited them to play at an Indian game with ball and
rackets, thirteen of a side, in which they all shewed great
strength and agility.
