They write from Bristol, Coventry, Nottingham, and Sarum,
that the expressions of their joy at receiving the news,
that the Excise bill was postponed, were very extraordinary. 
At Bristol the news arrived at 11 on Thursday night, & the
bells began to ring on Friday morning, and continued all
that day. . .
