London, . . . April 12.  We hear that the Aldermen,
Sheriffs, and Common-Council, &c. made so fine and powerful
addresses to the House of Commons on Tuesday last, by
petition and remonstrance against the intended excise-bill
on tobacco, that they have been pleased to put off the
farther reading of it to Tuesday June 12.  And last night
there was ringing of bells, bonfires. . .
