ON THE BRITISH COMMANDERS
Gage nothing did, and went to pot, 
Howe lost one town, another got;
Guy nothing lost, and nothing won.
Dunmore was homewards forced to run;
Clinton was beat, and got a garter, 
And bouncing Burgoyne catch'd a Tarter.
Thus all we've got for [millions] spent, 
Is to be laugh'd at, and repent.
