London, August 27. Tuesday night a great riot happened at a
Methodist chapel in Cumberland Street, in the curtain near
Moorefields. Many objected to the organ being played,
others as strenuously insisted on it, when part of the
congregation adjourned to the vestry, where blows were given
on each side, the preacher was worsted, a padlock was put on
the chapel door next day which a few hours after was broken
to pieces, and the affair is left to the decision of the
law.
