London, Jan 2. The very theatre of France begins to breathe
a general toleration; for the new play has already run
seventy nights, where the whole plot turns on a Protestant
being condemned to the gallies, for having read lectures to
his own private family; and where the son releases the
father by condemning himself to the gallies in his room, the
exclamations of the audience, it is said, are endless;
particularly when that part arrives where the father's
liberty is regained.
