Index Entry | Theatre, in Dublin, closed on departure of manager |
Location | Dublin |
Citation | SCAGG.768.003 8-15 Jan 1768:21 (11/479) Dublin, Oct. 24. Never were our theatrical affairs so much embarrassed as at present, occasioned by the abdication of our theatrick monarch of Crow Street, who after having two elegant theatres built for him here, and at Cork, by subscription, left this Kingdom without the least apology and is engaged at Drury Lane Theatre. It has been remarked that since 1691, Dublin, at this time of the year, has not been without a company of players, till now. |
