Further Advices by the Pacquette, London, March 9. A
singular circumstance happened on Saturday evening last. A
lady elegantly dressed coming out of the Opera was laid hold
of in a rough manner, as she was stepping into her carriage,
by an elderly man. The servant, lifting up his arm to
correct the offender, she screemed out, "It is my father!"
and suffered him without expostulation to put her into a
Hackney Coach, which he ordered to drive to an Inn in
Holborn--It is said he is an Apothecary in Northumberland;
that the young lady eloped about six months since, and that
he had but lately discovered her situation; that, fearing
to enter the dwelling of her seducer, he traced her to the
Opera, and there recovered her. Early on Sunday morning, he
put the fair frail into a chaise, and set off for their
native town.
