Deserters. Deserted from his Majesty's 82nd regiment on
foot, Thomas Hynes and Bryan Connor, quartered at Yellow-
Hook, Thomas Hynes by occupation a labourer, is about five
feet seven inches and an half high, stout made, fresh
complexion, light brown hair queued, grey eyes, and about
twenty five years of age, born in the province of Munster in
Ireland went off in his regimental jacket, faced black, the
number of the regiment on the buttons, blue cloth gaiter
trowsers, round hat with white lace.
Bryan Connor is about five feet six inches high, slender
made, pale complexion, dark brown hair clubb'd behind, grey
eyes, about eighteen years of age, writes a very good hand,
plays well on the fiddle, has a scar in his face, born in
the province of Leinster in Ireland. Whoever apprehends
these deserters shall receive two guineas reward for each.
There is reason to suspect that they either sold or
exchanged their regimental clothing. Whoever can give
information on that head so as to convict the person or
persons who bought or exchanged said clothing shall be
entitled to the said reward of two guineas. There being
likewise the strongest reason to suspect that the above
deserters either now are or intend to enter on board ship,
all masters of vessels or others are cautioned against
harbouring or concealing said deserter as they answer it at
their peril. [signed] J. Gunning, Lieut. Col. 82d Regt.
